A beautifully stained fence greatly enhances your property's appearance by accenting your landscape and adding extra outdoor enjoyment to home ownership. The price for protecting and bringing out the natural beauty of your wood fence or deck is typically 10% to 20% of the construction cost of the fence or deck, making this a very cost-effective and smart investment. Prices start at $3 / foot per side for a standard 6' picket fence. This includes the cleaning of grayed fences. New fences less than 6 months old start at $2.40 / foot per side for a standard 6' picket fence.

IS MY FENCE OR DECK GRAY BECAUSE OF AGE?
CAN'T I JUST PAINT MY FENCE OR DECK?
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN STAINING A FENCE?
No, the gray on a fence or deck is actually caused by mold. If your fence or deck is not properly protected, it will turn gray from mold within one year.
Painting a fence or deck is the worst thing you could do. Painting has virtually no protective properties, has to be regularly applied, and is expensive and time-consuming.
The process involves a two system approach to protecting the structure: 1) Cleaning 2) Applying stain. We use a special mixture of stain with a sealant, UV protectant and waterproofing agent.
DOES IT MATTER HOW OLD A FENCE OR DECK IS?
No matter how old a fence or deck is, it can be cleaned and stained to extend the life for several years. Or, it can be stained when newly built to give a vibrant color while simultaneously prolonging its life.
DOES STAINING A FENCE OR DECK LAST FOREVER?
No, staining can last 5 to 10 years depending on weather conditions. However, a fence’s beauty and longevity can be preserved almost indefinitely by following the recommended reapplication of stain on a 3 to 4-year interval.
HOW DOES THE STAIN WORK ONCE APPLIED?
By saturating the lumber surface, the stain penetrates the wood leaving an even, uniform coating. The stain does not peel or chip, saving hours of sanding and prep work for refinishing and ensuring a uniform and great appearance every time.
